The Joy of the Lord

As I was reading in Psalm 86 this morning, God spoke to my heart about living with His joy in our lives and how that can be a reality for us as His children. In verse 4 it says this...

"Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul."

As we learn to lift up our hearts and the things that concern our hearts (failures, sins, fears, doubts, decisions, loneliness, shame, hurts, etc.) to our Father, He will fill us with His joy. If we choose to hold onto them ourselves and keep them, we will be overcome with sorrow, grief, helplessness, hopelessness, defeat, discouragement, depression, etc. and His joy will not be evident in our lives.

He calls us to "not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Did you hear that...If we lift up our hearts to Him and give Him everything, His peace will fill our lives and we will have His joy spilling out of us, even when our lives are filled with pain and struggles.

May God teach us how to lift up everything to Him so we can be His agents of JOY!

For His Glory,
Chris
